This is the workhorse of the Japanese maples, Acer palmatum. A beautiful tree in all seasons.
Typically, Acer palmatum will leaf out a chartreuse with flecks of red-orange margins and red flowers. A beautiful contrast. Leaves become apple green in the summer. Then, fall will bring orange-red colours. Acer palmatum is (surprisingly) an underused but beautiful tree, and no two trees are perfectly identical. An excellent focal tree in the landscape which can also be pruned to fit into many locations.
Mature height can be about 25' and about 20' wide if left to grow on it's own without pruning
